  • Step 1 — Prep
    Begin with gentle exfoliation using a loofah, exfoliating pad, or body scrub to remove dead skin cells for an even, longer-lasting result. Apply a light layer of moisturizer to feet, ankles, wrists, and elbows beforehand, as these areas absorb product more readily. Allow one to two days after shaving before application.
  • Step 2 — Apply
    Dispense a quarter-size amount onto a mitt or applicator brush. Begin at the legs and work upward in long, sweeping motions for a seamless finish. Use a lighter touch on wrists, ankles, and hands, blending carefully. For the back, a back applicator helps ensure even coverage. Wash hands thoroughly if applying without a mitt.
  • Step 3 — Develop
    Wait at least one hour before showering, swimming, or exercising. Full color develops within 6–8 hours. For a deeper shade, apply a second coat after approximately one hour.
  • Step 4 — Kit
    Use the included applicators and brushes as directed on each product label for face and body application.

Sure thing – we recommend exfoliating in the shower first. Then, apply your body lotion to the more porous spots, such as your hands, elbows, knees, ankles, and feet. Apply a small amount of self-tanner to your face applicator mitt. Massage into your face in a circular motion.

Then, add a larger amount of tanner to your body applicator mitt. Starting from your feet, apply your tanner using the same circular motion. Slip them on, add a little tanning lotion, and apply carefully to your face and body using circular motions. You’ll have more control this way than if you just used your hands, plus you’ll never have to deal with orange palms again!

Because when you are using this self-tanning lotion it is causing a reaction with your skin – giving you that bronzed look. If you don’t remove the dead skin cells it will give the tan to those and your tan will not last as long as if you tan your new skin. In addition to that, exfoliation sloughs off any flakes, keeping your skin clear and reducing discoloration.

Exfoliating mitts work best in the shower. Apply a dollop of your favorite moisturizing cleanser to your mitt, and then massage your skin in a circular motion to remove dead skin cells. Pay a little extra attention to your elbows, knees, and heels: they tend to be problem areas.

This lotion went on well, but stained my fingernails, wrists, etc. I put it on without gloves due to the many videos I watched of users putting it on just like any other lotion and saying it does not turn anything orange, which is not true. It also has a very distinct smell that does not go away until the color is gone. I most likely wont be using it again.

I didn't think I needed this kit because I already had a standard tan mit. But GIRL let me tell you. This exfoliating mit it comes with does great things for my skin. Instead of using a sugar scrub to exfoliate, use this instead! Also it comes with a little face mit too, which is SO helpful. I just used the normal tan lotion on my face and using the kit as my applicator and it look FLAWLESS

One question: I’ve read nothing about how to clean the mit. I just used water and hand soap; washing it by hand + am air drying it. What is the better way??
