"My mom hasn’t met a human she doesn’t like. She is literally everyone’s friend, supporter, promoter. When I think of her, I see a mental reel of compassion and service. Not a week went by where she wasn’t taking food to someone, giving a homeless woman a ride, lending her car, or babysitting for someone. Usually, her acts of kindness are aimed at virtual strangers. "I've been blessed with a lot of love and support in my life, but none compares to what I've received from my mom. She's been there for me through thick and thin, always pushing me to chase my dreams, see the world, and never stop learning. Since I was little, I've admired her strength, intelligence, and independence, and she still blows me away with all she does. From traveling a month in Ireland by herself to picking up her things and moving across the US to start a new life, she is fearless. I'm so grateful for all the sacrifices she's made for me. "For 17 years I was the only child in the family (and all this time I desperately wanted a sibling). All my Birthday and Christmas wishes were about it, I was so jealous of my friends who had little sisters or brothers. And one day, right before my 17th birthday, my mom made my dream come true!
