BBE's 2022 Wrap Up

BBE's 2022 Wrap Up

ESTIMATE 9-MINUTES READ

It's that time of year again, babe. You know, when we all talk about how quickly time keeps flying by and how we just can't believe it's about to be 2023! We love a new beginning, but New Years also brings us an opportunity to reflect on the year that has past and revisit the remarkable (and sometimes pretty wild) things that have happened. In this one, we're doing just that by bringing you BBE's 2022 Wrap Up. Strap in gorgeous, it's been one heck of a year!

Before you start planning the year ahead, let's reminisce a little...

We know you're already hard at work on those New Year's resolutions, sis. But 2022 had some noteworthy moments we have to go over first. So much happened this past year, that we had trouble figuring out where to even start this blog post.

The products we couldn't get enough of in 2022

This past year, BBE took no breaks when it came to giving you the obsessively natural products you so deserve. From self tanning drops to kabuki brushes - we really did that. Not only did you love our new sunscreen sprays, you also couldn't get enough of our hair brushes and our magnesium deodorants.

Oh and did we mention that we gave this old classic a little facelift? BBE's eye cream got some revamping, with the same amazing formula you've come to know and love.

BBE's 2022 New Product Wrap Up

Let's just say, we think you can use a few of these babies to get ready and glammed up for New Year's eve this year, babe! Not to mention, to recover on New Year's day (hello, hydrating eye gel). Yep, we sure wish we had some eye products or two during the 2022 New Year celebration past (shakes head reliving last year's champagne fest).

Did you notice BBE's website also got a facelift?

We thought 2022 was a prime time to revamp and reinvent ourselves a little. You know, while still keeping the BBE vibe you've come to know and trust. We gave the beautiful www.beautybyearth.com a makeover and even upped our blog space for your viewing pleasure. More tips, more tricks, and all the beauty and lifestyle related info you could ever possibly need. You're welcome, gorgeous.

We were on Good Morning America... Twice!

Seriously, we're blushing. We know New Year's is a time to celebrate, but this just makes us beyond stocked! BBE products were featured on GMA more than once this year, and we couldn't be more grateful. But enough about us, so many other things happened around the world this year that we think are definitely worth a mention (you know, to put it mildly).

Rihanna is officially a new mom.

Yep, the queen herself gave birth to a baby boy on May 13, 2022 in Los Angeles. Babes everywhere couldn't get enough of RiRi's pregnancy style and quite honestly, we're going to miss those looks! Oh and also, we can't decide whether he looks more like her or A$AP Rocky!

Taylor Swift broke Ticketmaster.

This year, Ticketmaster canceled the public sale of Taylor Swift's 2023 concert tickets for a "lack of inventory". It's no secret that babes everywhere are *dying* to see this queen in concert, but she made serious history with this tour (before it even started!). Kuddos to you if you managed to get yourself a ticket (or two!) babe!

Will Smith was involved in some, uh, drama...

Some would call it the slap that was heard around the world. Will Smith slapped Chris Rock because of a joke he made about Jada on stage at the Oscars. He later apologized for his behavior but let's just say, no one forgot about it real quick (including the officials from the Oscars!). 2022 was definitely one year the Smiths won't be forgetting any time soon, either!

RIP to the Queen of England.

The people of England were in serious mourning this year when at the age of 96, Queen Elizabeth died of old age on September 8. She was the longest reigning (and most stylish) Queen of England and will be greatly missed.

Movies & TV Series were popping in 2022...

From new Netflix gems to the blockbusters that made it to the big screen, 2022 sure made way for some amazing screen time. Who didn't love binge watching Firefly Lane or the Addams Family revamp of Wednesday? Or Bridgerton?! And hello, who wasn't pumped to watch Hocus Pocus 2 this Halloween?! Yep, we'd say this year was a serious success when it came to finding something good to watch!

Kanye had a new muse (or two, or three...)

Honestly, we couldn't keep up with the amount of messy relationships this rapper had in 2022. From (way young) models to Kim K lookalikes, there was no slowing down Ye in the love department. One of the relationships that does stick out though, was his short-lived stint with Julia Fox. In fact, we're still scratching our heads about her new choice of outfits post-Kanye. But hey, the entertainment factor isn't lacking here, and we won't be ignoring her outrageous looks any time soon!

Elon Musk took over Twitter.

In a $44 billion dollar deal, Elon Musk completely took over Twitter this year. Musk was always skeptical of some of the censorship happening on the platform and even promised to reverse bans on previous users. We're not sure if this really marked our 2022, but it's one story that definitely made headlines again and again.

The first woman referee was at the men's World Cup.

We love us some girl power! Stephanie Frappart made history as the first woman to referee a men's World Cup match. Frappart was honoured to work at this year's Qatar World Cup and as supportive feminists, we were pretty stocked, too. There's nothing like the sport of soccer to bring so many countries around the world together!

50 years of Pride were celebrated.

Pride was celebrated in countries all over the world as usual this year, but Summer 2022 marked 50 years of Pride for Londoners in particular and the pictures prove that the parade of over 30 000 people was quite the party. On top of that, the celebration itself drew more than 1.5 million people making it the largest Pride in British history!

The Sugababes reunited in the UK.

If you're a 90's baby, you might remember a few of their hits ('Round 'Round was on repeat on mp3 players everywhere - remember those things, mp3s?!). These babes reunited for festival season this year and had the crowd (and our inner teens) going wild.

Harry Styles was on the cover of Better Homes & Gardens.

Everyone's favorite Harry (no offence to the ex Prince) was on the cover of Better Homes & Gardens. Not only did he come out with a stellar solo album (Harry's House) this year, but he made for an unexpected yet perfect cover boy, too. Even if you aren't usually a Better Homes & Gardens fan, you (and thousands of other babes) were surely picking up a copy of this bad boy in 2022.

Speaking of the ex Prince... Meghan Markle and Harry put out a Netflix special.

...And it's kind of a disaster. But did we expect anything less from the couple that's been making headlines ever since their bombshell inducing interview with Oprah? It's safe to say that the reaction to these two has been pretty passionate, and 2022 was a significant year for the Royal family.

The Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial that basically took over our lives.

I mean, was it even possible to turn on a television this year without hearing about these two? Whoever's side you were on, no one can deny that the Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard trial was a big show stopper in 2022. We wish them both a more peaceful 2023.

JLo & Ben Affleck got back together.

The couple we've been waiting for. No offence to A-Rod, but Bennifer reunited and made our hearts swoon in 2022. Not only did these two get back together this year, but they also tied the knot! We're happy to see Jenny from the block back in love and happier than ever (oh and of course, still defying the age Gods).

RIP to our fave Full House member: Bob Saget passed away.

Hearts shattered everywhere when the news broke that our favorite TV dad passed away this year. Bob Saget was tragically found in his hotel room at the Ritz-Carleton in Orlando Grande Lakes. We'll always remember how fun it was to watch him and the Full House family growing up and his amazing spirit will never be forgotten.

Russia invaded Ukraine.

Not a happy memory, but one we definitely won't forget. The world was captured by this political event and came together to help the people of Ukraine when Russia launched a military invasion this year on February 24. Several countries and movements went all out to denounce the invasion and people everywhere did what they could to provide support and relief to Ukrainians.

Apple's stock value went like, way up.

Apply made history by becoming the first company to hit a stock market value of $3 trillion. Wild? Yes. Are we surprised, though? I mean, with the way we all love our iPhones, nah! Steve Jobs would definitely be proud of this stellar accomplishment - that's for sure!

You're now ready to ring in the New Year, babe.

We've reminisced, we've laughed, we've cried, and we're now ready to move on to the future. Most of us can agree that 2022 a nice change from the hiatus (read dumpster fire) that 2020-2021 was. We're ready for our New Year's Eve celebration and for all that 2023 is going to offer. Get in that midnight kiss, watch the ball drop (or whatever you believe brings good fortune) and enjoy celebrating the year ahead with your loved ones, babe. And of course, happy New Year to your whole family, from ours.

Carey <3
