FREQUENCY We suggest 3 times a week, allowing your skin to have time to restore and produce those healthy results!
TIME TO RESULTS Within 4-8 rolling sessions you should start to see rejuvenated & restored skin. Derma rolling works wonders on fine lines, acne scarring, and producing collagen. Everyone’s skin works a little differently, so don’t give up if you don’t see results right away!
REPLENISH The lifespan of derma rollers vary depending on how often they’re used and how well they’re treated. A general rule of thumb is when their movement starts to get jerky, it’s time to replace. It’s also important to replace your roller if you drop it. Even a small fall can damage your roller, which in turn can damage your skin. Better to be safe than sorry!

How to USE
Step 1: Wash that face, babe! +

It’s SO IMPORTANT to start with a clean slate. Wash your face with a gentle natural face wash (we’re crushing on this one made with sea kelp) and dry off.

Step 2: Gently roll your derma roller over your forehead, cheeks, and chin. +

Use even, gentle strokes, being careful not to drag. Avoid the areas around your eyes. 2. Roll over your forehead vertically. 3. Roll diagonally across your cheeks and jaw, starting from the center and moving out. 4. Don't worry: we didn't forget your nose! Roll over it downwards several times. 5. Follow up with your favorite products, including moisturizer, toner, or facial serum. A few notes: Don't be alarmed if your skin turns red after derma rolling. We recommend rolling before bed to give your skin a chance to settle down. It's also important to avoid sharing your roller with anyone else.

Step 3: Apply facial oil or moisturizer. +

Next, apply your favorite facial oil or moisturizer to your face. You want something with staying power here so that your gua sha glides along your skin.

BONUS: Ice, Ice, Baby! Grab your ice roller or chilled jade roller and roll over face and neck for soothing finish. +

Use the smaller end of your roller for the skin around your eyes. Begin by placing your roller on the inner corner of your under eye. Roll outwards towards your ear. Face: Roll your cheekbones, lips, and chin using the same basic method as your forehead and eyes. Starting at the center of your face (next to your nose, in the center of your upper lip, or the center of your chin), roll outwards towards your ears. Jawline: Set your roller on the center of your chin, then roll upwards towards your cheekbones. Repeat from your chin’s underside towards your ears, then from the top of your neck down to your collarbones.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the needles on your derma roller made of?

Our derma rollers are made from .25 millimeter titanium. In other words, they’re tough enough to stand up to frequent use. Take good care of it and it’ll take good care of you!

How long should my derma roller last, and when should I replace it?

The lifespan of derma rollers vary depending on how often they’re used and how well they’re treated. A general rule of thumb is when their movement starts to get jerky, it’s time to replace. It’s also important to replace your roller if you drop it. Derma rolling is safe and painless when done with a well-tuned tool. Even a small fall can damage your roller, which in turn can damage your skin. Better to be safe than sorry!

Can I use my derma roller during an active acne breakout?

Please don’t. Derma rollers are not intended for use on acne, cold sores, or any kind of open wound. Best case scenario it’s really, really uncomfortable. Worse case it puts you at risk for infection. Not worth it.

How long will it take to see results?

Most people see results within 4 – 8 rolling sessions. Some people see results as early as their first roll. Everyone’s body is a little different, so there’s no way to say for sure. We encourage anyone trying rolling to think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. Great results will come from consistent, regular use.

Can I use a derma roller after waxing?

Not going to lie: we winced a little when we thought about that. Please don’t use a derma roller on freshly tweezed, waxed, or threaded skin. Your skin will be very tender, and you run the risk of having a painful reaction.

How much time should I put into each rolling session?

We recommend spending between 6 to 10 minutes each time you roll. Once you go over 10 minutes you run the risk of overdoing it.

So how do I use this thing anyway?

Glad you asked! Here’s a little breakdown to get you started:
1. Gently roll your derma roller back and forth horizontally over your forehead, cheeks and chin. Use even, gentle strokes, being careful not to drag. Avoid the areas around your eyes.
2. Roll over your forehead vertically.
3. Roll diagonally across your cheeks and jaw, starting from the center and moving out.
4. Don’t worry: we didn’t forget your nose! Roll over it downwards several times.
5. Follow up with your favorite products, including moisturizer, toner, or facial serum.

I’ve noticed that I get a bit of redness and a sunburn-like sensation after rolling. Is that bad?

Nothing to worry about. It’s very normal to experience some redness and tenderness after rolling. You shouldn’t feel any tenderness after 24 hours, and any redness should go away after 12 hours. It’s not a bad idea to roll at night so the redness is mostly gone by the time you wake up.

Those are needles, right? Isn’t it going to hurt?

Yes, they are needles. No, they don’t hurt. Really. The goal is to start rolling very, very lightly, just gliding over your skin. As you get a little more comfortable with how your roller works you can use a little more pressure. If you notice it starts to hurt, it’s time to ease up.

How often can I use my roller?

We recommend sticking to 3 times a week. This gives your skin a chance to build up collagen and elastin between treatments — which is the whole point of derma rolling, after all. Spacing out your treatments also reduces the risk of rolling too much in the same area, which can lead to discomfort.

Am I going to bleed from this?

Derma rolling generally does not lead to bleeding. Every once in a while you may find a small spot of blood. This is perfectly normal. We recommend cleaning your derma roller between each use to make sure any small pricks don’t turn into infections.

How do I clean my derma roller?

Disinfect your derma roller by letting it soak in alcohol for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and get rolling!
