Our derma rollers are made from .25 millimeter titanium. In other words, they’re tough enough to stand up to frequent use. Take good care of it and it’ll take good care of you!

The lifespan of derma rollers vary depending on how often they’re used and how well they’re treated. A general rule of thumb is when their movement starts to get jerky, it’s time to replace. It’s also important to replace your roller if you drop it. Derma rolling is safe and painless when done with a well-tuned tool. Even a small fall can damage your roller, which in turn can damage your skin. Better to be safe than sorry!

Please don’t. Derma rollers are not intended for use on acne, cold sores, or any kind of open wound. Best case scenario it’s really, really uncomfortable. Worse case it puts you at risk for infection. Not worth it.

Most people see results within 4 – 8 rolling sessions. Some people see results as early as their first roll. Everyone’s body is a little different, so there’s no way to say for sure. We encourage anyone trying rolling to think of it as a marathon, not a sprint. Great results will come from consistent, regular use.

Not going to lie: we winced a little when we thought about that. Please don’t use a derma roller on freshly tweezed, waxed, or threaded skin. Your skin will be very tender, and you run the risk of having a painful reaction.

Glad you asked! Here’s a little breakdown to get you started:

1. Gently roll your derma roller back and forth horizontally over your forehead, cheeks and chin. Use even, gentle strokes, being careful not to drag. Avoid the areas around your eyes.

2. Roll over your forehead vertically.

3. Roll diagonally across your cheeks and jaw, starting from the center and moving out.

4. Don’t worry: we didn’t forget your nose! Roll over it downwards several times.

5. Follow up with your favorite products, including moisturizer, toner, or facial serum.

Nothing to worry about. It’s very normal to experience some redness and tenderness after rolling. You shouldn’t feel any tenderness after 24 hours, and any redness should go away after 12 hours. It’s not a bad idea to roll at night so the redness is mostly gone by the time you wake up.

Yes, they are needles. No, they don’t hurt. Really. The goal is to start rolling very, very lightly, just gliding over your skin. As you get a little more comfortable with how your roller works you can use a little more pressure. If you notice it starts to hurt, it’s time to ease up.

We recommend sticking to 3 times a week. This gives your skin a chance to build up collagen and elastin between treatments — which is the whole point of derma rolling, after all. Spacing out your treatments also reduces the risk of rolling too much in the same area, which can lead to discomfort.

Derma rolling generally does not lead to bleeding. Every once in a while you may find a small spot of blood. This is perfectly normal. We recommend cleaning your derma roller between each use to make sure any small pricks don’t turn into infections.

Ice rolling is super simple:

Place the roller in the freezer to chill for at least 30 minutes.  It should be stored in there when clean and not in use.

Starting with clean skin, roll your temples and forehead, using gentle, steady strokes with the ice roller.

Transition to your eyes, then to your cheeks, mouth, and around your jaw, continuing that rolling motion.

Make downward motions with the ice roller from your chin down your neck to sculpt your profile and promote drainage.

After using, cleanse the roller with water and a mild soap and put back in the freezer.

Follow up with a serum or oil and your usual skincare routine.
