Apps to Manage Your Wellness During Quarantine

ESTIMATE 2-MINUTES READ

Now more than ever, we're turning to our phones for entertainment, news, connection, escape, etc. Believe it or not, your phone is also a great source of mindfulness practices. Whether you're a meditation skeptic or a total zen-head, it's important that you are checking in with your feelings and thoughts at this time. If you're feeling overwhelmed, here are some wonderful apps to manage your wellness during quarantine.

Headspace

Headspace has an expansive library of guided meditations, from sleep assistance to stress management to productivity. They also have quick, mindful-centric workouts to encourage movement. Find yourself in a bout of anxiety or panic? The app has "SOS" sessions to help you through it. Whatever the need, you'll easily find comfort in the soothing voices and peaceful-looking characters.

Streaks

As the name implies, Streaks is all about forming habits over a consistent period of time. You can track up to twelve tasks you want to complete, such as eating a healthy meal or getting active, and your goal is to build a streak of consecutive days. This app is the perfect reminder to keep yourself on track while stuck at home.

Calm

Calm is another meditation app with sessions of all kinds, but the best feature by far is their Sleep Stories. If you're having trouble getting to sleep or find yourself waking up repeatedly because of a disrupted schedule, this is a great solution. Sleep Stories are bedtime stories that lull you to sleep, featuring notable voices such as Matthew McConaughey or Leona Lewis.

Elevate

If you're in a bit of a slump mentally, Elevate is just the challenge you need to boost your cognition and productivity. It's a brain training program that uses games and workouts to improve cognitive skills like focus or memory. You're able to track your progress as you go, as well, giving you insight into any development.

Wild Journey

Wild Journey uses gorgeously illustrated landscapes combined with meditative narration to guide you through your own sort of journey. You can choose from a variety of topics and settings for your experience, accompanied by nature sounds and other sensory stimulants. Connect with nature while you connect with yourself.

If you'd rather not use apps to manage your wellness in quarantine, though, sometimes all you need is the right environment and you. A great time to practice mindfulness exercises or wellness-related activities such as journaling is in the bath. The warm waters allow you to let go of tension while you take a second to refocus. Need some extra love? Toss in a bath bomb to add in soothing salts, butters, and scents.
