Our boar bristle hair brush combines pure boar bristles and nylon pins in a unique configuration that both detangles stubborn knots and spreads nourishing oils from your scalp all along the length of your hair.
Each long nylon pin is placed to help get rid of tangles while stimulating your scalp, while the shorter bristles move oils from your scalp to your tips. The result? Shiny, happy, healthy locks from the top of your head to the very tips of your hair.
Your hair is gonna love this brush: we guarantee it. While any hair type can use it, we especially recommended it for people with normal to thick hair. It’s the perfect way to smooth out tangles before styling. As the brush detangles it will help spread natural oils through your hair, making it smoother and easier to work with. You’ll end up with shiny, frizz-free hair that makes styling a pleasure.
We want to make sure all of our products are as eco-friendly as possible. That’s why our boar bristle hair brush is made with one of the most sustainable plants on Earth: bamboo. Bamboo has a much faster re-growth cycle and yield than conventional timber, and it can be harvested with virtually no environmental impact. It can also be grown in soil that’s been damaged by overgrazing or poor agricultural practices. We think it’s the perfect choice for an environmentally friendly hairbrush.
How to Use
With this brush, the key is starting with dry hair. Brushing wet hair can lead to breakage, and you won’t get the same oil distribution you will with dry hair.
Start by detangling your hair with a wide-tooth comb or de-tangling brush. Once the worst of the tangles are history, brush from your hair’s root to its tip. Brushing from top to bottom makes sure the oils are distributed evenly.
If you have normal or thick hair, brush in sections. Start by brushing the back of your hair (bend over for better access), then brush the rest of your hair in sections.
Care for your brush well to get the most out of it. Carefully remove any hair with a wide tooth comb after each use. Clean your brush with shampoo and water. Make sure to rinse the shampoo out of the brush without submerging it in water. Water can become trapped in the rubber cushion, so squeeze gently to remove it. Finally, dry your brush by laying it on a flat towel with the bristles face down.
Question: What is a Boar Bristle Brush?
Answer: Boar bristle brushes have been the gold standard for hairbrushes since the 1800s. These brushes use boar bristles to detangle hair, as well as spread healthy, natural oils from your scalp to your tips.
Question: What materials do you use to make your boar bristle brush?
Answer: This brush is a combination of pure boar bristles and nylon pins. We’ve arranged them in a unique configuration that detangles stubborn knots while spreading natural oils throughout your hair. Our boar brush handle is made from bamboo.
Question: What are some boar bristle brush benefits?
Answer: Boar bristle brushes are an amazingly effective way to make the most of your scalp’s natural oils. By gently transferring oils from your scalp to your tips, boar bristle brushes are basically a dry shampooing and conditioning system. Use your boar bristle brush regularly to stimulate the scalp and promote hair growth, as well as control frizz and bring out the best in your hair’s texture.
Question: Can I use this boar bristle brush when my hair is wet?
Answer: We don’t recommend it – dry your hair before using this brush.
Question: Will this natural brush lead to hair breakage?
Answer: Boar bristle brushes are very gentle and won’t damage or break your hair the way cheap plastic brushes will. However, any brush can cause damage if used on wet hair, so make sure to dry first!
Question: I’ve heard you can use a boar bristle brush instead of conditioner – is that true?
Answer: Absolutely. Boar bristle brushes let you take advantage of your body’s natural conditioning oils. Use your brush to gently transfer just the right amount of oil over each hair. You’ll end up with moisturized, naturally shiny hair.
Question: Can I use a boar bristle brush for styling?
Answer: You know all of those glamorous actresses from the mid 20th century? They got their iconic hairstyles from boar brushes! The more you condition your hair with one of these brushes, the healthier it will become, giving you less and less need to style it.
Question: I have frizzy hair: are boar bristle brushes right for me?
Answer: Of course. In fact, your hair’s natural oils are the original anti-frizz treatment. Regular boar bristle brush use can go a long way in taming unruly hair.
Question: Can this boar bristle brush also detangle my hair?
Answer: It can. Its boar bristles are accompanied by nylon pins to help get rid of knots and tangles.
Question: Is this a sustainable boar bristle brush?
Answer: We do everything we can to make our products as eco-friendly as possible, and this brush is no exception. We chose bamboo for a base because it’s one of the most sustainable plants on Earth. It has a crazy-fast re-growth cycle, can be harvested with virtually no environmental impact, and can be grown in soil that’s been damaged by overgrazing. In other words, it’s the perfect choice for the eco-conscious hair aficionado.
