How do I avoid streaks and patchy spots?

Prep is half the battle: exfoliate 24 hours before (pay extra attention to knees, elbows, ankles, and wrists), then apply to clean, dry skin. Use a tanning mitt and work in small sections with long, sweeping strokes — not back-and-forth scrubbing.

Does it smell like fake tan?

How long does the tan last?

With normal daily activity, expect about 5–7 days of even color before it starts to fade naturally. Your skin sheds the outer layer where the DHA reaction happened, so the tan gradually and evenly wears off — no patchy armpits or weird ankle lines if you moisturize daily.

Exfoliating, swimming in chlorinated pools, and hot baths will shorten wear time. For events, apply 1–2 days ahead and touch up lightly mid-week if you want to maintain the glow.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

Can I use the same product on my face and body?

Our body lotion and mousse work beautifully on neck, chest, and arms, and many customers use them on the face with good results. For facial application, go lighter — one thin layer, avoid the hairline, and blend into the jaw and ears.

Will it stain my sheets or clothes?

The product can transfer to fabric while it's developing, especially in the first few hours. Wear loose, dark clothing to bed and avoid white sheets on application night — old pajamas you don't mind are perfect.

Any light transfer usually washes out on a normal cycle. Wash your hands and nails immediately after applying, and wipe down your mitt and any surfaces you touched. Once the tan has developed and you've rinsed off, transfer is minimal.

Which shade should I choose?

When in doubt, go one shade lighter than you think — you can always add a second layer after 24 hours, but you can't undo a too-dark application. Fair and cool-toned skin usually loves our Fair to Medium shades; warm medium tones do well with Medium; deeper complexions reach for Medium to Dark or Dark.
